Upper Mustang Trek- information one will want to take

14 Days Upper Mustang Trek brings you the beautiful reality of Mustang which lies in the rain gloominess of the Dhaulagiri massif creating a ruggedly infertile terrain encircled by rocks in a variety of colors with remarkable formation. The visits to historical places like the Palace of King Lo will certainly give you an outlook on the origination, prevalence, and custom of the Upper Mustang. Likewise, the upper mustang trekking trails follow the antique salt convoy path from the very beginning which was used by the community of Mustang for trading Tibetan salt. The Upper Mustang holiday rewards you with the glorious views and company of magnificent mountain peaks like Mt. Nilgiri at 2,637m, Mt. Annapurna at 8,097m, Mt. Dhaulagiri at 8,167m, and other incredible mountain ranges. Due to the blow of strong wind in the Mustang valley, you will indeed be mesmerized by the feel of fresh mountain air which sometimes can result to be dusty as well. Rather than Lush Green vegetation, Upper Mustang is more like a desert with dry weather which is something that makes it different from other Himalayan regions. You will get several chances to explore the museums and Gompas in the region like Amchi museum and Thugchen Gompa respectively. Not only that, you can even rent Tibetan ponies to tour around certain parts of the gorgeous Mustang Valley like the trip to Chhoser where you can make a short visit to tiny monasteries and a century-old cave abode elevated in the rocks.

Similarly, the well-located approach to get to Upper Mustang is to fly from Pokhara at 850m to Jomsom at 2,743m and begin the trek from there. The flight is a venture in itself as we will be flying all the way through the deepest canyon in the globe, the Kali Gandaki Canyon which runs sandwiched between the Dhaulagiri and the Nilgiri mountains. In the Upper Mustang Hike, we will be chasing the famous Kali Gandaki River upstream, moderately walking in the river bed itself, and making our way to Kagbeni at 2,780m. Out of Kagbeni the hike leads on track northwards and heads to Lo Manthang in about 4 to 5 days. We will be overtaking some passes, which are all between 3,500 and 4,000 meters. Close to Dhakmar, we can find the oldest monastery on the globe, the Lo Gekar Monastery. It is indeed a very exciting and fun trekking adventure to undertake in a differently formed environment.
