The adventure to Lumba Sumba Pass kicks off today with an early morning flight to Bhadrapur from Kathmandu, a journey that lasts approximately 30-35 minutes in the northeastern region of the country. Once you arrive in Bhadrapur, you’ll hop on a local bus or private jeep for a scenic ride to Taplejung, which usually takes about 6 to 8 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. You’ll end your day resting in a local lodge.

Your destination is Lelep, a charming village with plenty of grocery stores and tea shops, perfect for a cozy night away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

oday promises another enjoyable trekking experience along the sparkling Tamor River. You’ll pass through Ulnus, rhododendron, and pine forests, crossing the river via a suspension bridge after about an hour. After approximately three and a half hours of hiking, you'll reach Maguwa for lunch, taking in the tranquil scenery. From Maguwa, it will take about an hour and a half to reach Selep Kharka, where you may need to set up camp for the night due to the limited number of tea houses.

The trekking trail continues alongside the Tamor River, leading you to Jongim, a flat area surrounded by snow-capped hills and mountains. You'll navigate through dense forests and picturesque paths, stopping for a quick lunch at Ramite. Afterward, you'll head straight to Olachug Gola, a charming Sherpa village featuring a 465-year-old monastery, KCAP offices, a health post, a primary school, and a border station, all while passing by a stunning waterfall for your overnight stay.

Olanchung Gola is the largest village of the Walung people, who speak a language rooted in Tibetan and share many cultural traits with the Sherpas. Today is yours to explore this remote village at your leisure—shop for local goods, take photos, or venture further west along the Tamor River on the GHT high route, which leads back to the Makalu region via the Lumbha Sumba Pass (5160m).

The next day, the hike takes us to the Upper Langmale which is within the next three days as we come across different direction posts, sign posts and also pass through the rhododendron forests after that we will reach to the Upper Langmale at the altitude of 3893m. We stay at the overnight there.

One of the most challenging treks for today has to be this day. We pass through the peak of Lumba Sumpa as we ascend and descend. We pack our lunch after 4-5 hrs we then ascend to the peak of Lumba Sumpa and then stay for an overnight at the camp.

Today our hike descends from the Chaurikharka as you get tiring day where we then stay at the Thudam which is tiny village with Sherpas. We stay for an overnight here at the Thudam.

The trek runs to one of the glorious banks known as the Chujung Khola as the path offers one of the amazing peaks in the Makalu range. We trek for about 6-7 hrs to reach at the Yak Kharka which is at the altitude of about 2877m and then we stay for an overnight there with amazing meals.

The day passes through the rhododendron forests after we walk from the Yak Kharka for about three hours. We will see the view of the Chyamtang from the Chaurikharka after having some lunch we descend for about 3 hrs before we reach to the Arun River.  Our designation for today is Chyamtang where we stay for the night.

Today the path crosses through the rhododendron forest passing by the Arun Valley we then hike to the Glimber Village where majestic snowcapped peaks can be seen after that we reach at the Hatiya which is a small village as this is the entrance gate to the Makalu National Park.

Today the trek gradually takes us to the Gola which we reach after passing through the Barun and Arun Rivers where we have lunch and then after trekking for 6 hrs in general we then reach to the Gola which is one of the tiny villages.

After hiking out from the Gola, our designation for today is the HedangnaGadi. The hike passes across the beautiful paddy fields and then the lowlands, we reach at the Pathibara during lunch where there are several Gurung villages and then from there we head to Gadhi which has the great importance of the Nepali Army. We then spend here exploring the place.

Today is the last day of our trek as we hike descending till the Arun River after that we come across the Nun Village and from there the path drives us to the Tumlingtar where we stay for an overnight.

On day 20, we catch a flight from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu at 1300 meters. Then after landing, directly head to rest in our respective residential location for the time being.
