  • Annapurna circuit Trekking

We did 17 day Annapurna Circuit trek with Nepal Nomad. It was very interesting time with our porter rajendra who was very helpful in crossing the landslides and always tend to share his comments on places we were passsing by. Not only helpful he was also a good company amd we had lot of fun together. Annapurna Circuit is an excellent trek for those who want to see different landscape and various cultures. The trail goes through diffrent villages and one gets a chance to see how people are living in different conditions in mountains, areas of Nepal. Some of the view during the trek are simply stunning, not always lucky with weather but we still manage to view beautiful scenery and gorgeous views, And passing through Thorung- La was a relief and good achievement. Accommodation and food on the trek are very good, its easy to get used to it.

Many thanks to Sarba and Rajendra for all their help and advice!

We certainly plan to be back in Nepal for another trek in future.

  • Everest base Camp

We took a 14 day trek with sarba to everest base camp + kalapattar. we were picked up from the airport at kathmandu when we arrived and from then Sarba hooked after us very well. He checked our gear before we went and made sure we had everything we neede which i fpound very assuring. During the trek sarba made sure we took it slow so that we would have the best change of not having altitude problems which is in the end i had none. I aslso found him very good company. He has very good english which made the evening hours in the mountains pass quicker, and we learned lots of things about sherpa plus high altitude life that we didnt know before. Throughout the trek Sarba madesure be pointed out all the mountains names amd any important facts along the way and made sure we stopped to appreciate . The trek when sometimes we were just focused on getting to the nest village. All and all we had wonderful trek, the scenery was amazing and we could relax knowing the accommodations, food + trek were arranged.

  • Glimpse of Everest

Many thanks to Sarba and the crew at Nepal Nomad for ensuring that we had an incredible trip to the Himalayas in April ‘07! Organizing the trip from Australia was a breeze, with Sarba taking care of everything prior to us departing our sunny shores.  The trip itself was truly magical, with a highlight definitely being the hot chocolate we drank whilst perched on the balcony of the Everest View Hotel (3,900 meters), with views of (funnily enough) Everest and other peaks dwarfing us! Thanks again Sarba, it was such a memorable experience!! Oh, and if you do go with Sarba, ask him where he puts all that Dal Bhat – he must have hollow legs J

  • Everest Base Camp Trekking

I had the pleasure of Sarbas guidance on a trek to Kala pather/Everest base camp this recent fall, and I have nothing but good words. Having arrived in Katmandu with nothing but a recommendation, I went about finding a guide to take me on this famous trek. Like i said I had had a recommendation but upon arriving I thought I might try several different companies and to compare prices and quality before following my lead. However, after a string of disappointing conversations in which I struggled to find a company/independent guide I trusted, I tried Sarba.
Having made initial contact on the phone, we met the next day in Thamel and i was immediately impressed with his level of English and punctuality. After a short conversation arranging prices and itinerates, all of which i was happy with, we shook hands thus completed the deal.
The trip began with an early morning flight from Katmandu to lukla. This is prone to cancellations due to the altitude and tiny runway at Lukla but we were lucky to get away with no delays. Throughout this process Sarba took care of visa’s, tickets and permits required for the trek, all included in the price. Upon arrival and a brisk break fast, we took off into the sunshine heading towards our first over night stop at Phading. Despite my enthusiasm, Sarba constantly reiterated the need to go slowly and thus get use to the altitude. At first i struggled to see the logic but before long came to realise its truths.
From here the trek passed smoothly by. I was at first taken with the sheer beauty of the Himalaya but as we reached base camp, its history, meaning and size all acted in stirring the emotions. Passing the Everest memorials just before Lopsang also went a way to reminding you of the power of this vast mountain range. At the end of the trek we parted good friends and i have since met up with Sarba helping him with this website. I have since been in touch going about organize private funding for his primary school of which there are details on this website.
In advice to anybody considering this famous route, I can safely say Sarba’s guidance, combined with the natural beauty of the area made it a trip I will never forget. Furthermore, the benefits of going with an independent guide must be stressed, not only saving money but allowing for flexibility thus increasing the fluidity and enjoyment of any trek.
