Gosaikunda Lake, one of the jewels surrounded by Langtang National Park’s snow-covered Himalayas and situated to the height of 4,380 meters. Religious significance of Gosainkunda

Gosaikunda is one of the most sacred places for Hindus. It is believed by many Hindus, according to popular Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva used to live in the Gosaikund during meditation. The lake is mentioned in the Bhagavata Purana, Vishnu Purana, and to major texts of Hinduism such as the Ramayna and Mahabharata relating to dozens of stories connected with Lord Shiva and the churning of ocean or Samudra Manthan explaining its birth. Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu by public bus (7-8 hours).

Best time to visit Holy Gosaikunda Lake
